Lucknow, September 2025 – A concerning moment unfolded on Day 2 of the unofficial Test between India A and Australia A when Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna retired hurt after being struck on the helmet by a bouncer from Australian bowler Henry Thornton.

The Incident
The blow came in the 39th over. Although Prasidh initially passed the on-field concussion test and continued batting, he began to feel uneasy a few balls later. After about three overs, he walked off for medical attention and was replaced by Yash Thakur as a concussion substitute.
Prasidh’s Contribution with the Bat
Before the injury, Prasidh made a fighting effort lower down the order. Coming in after a batting collapse, he built a useful eighth-wicket stand with Sai Sudharsan (75). His short stay included a six over mid-wicket and a streaky four past slips, contributing 16 runs to the total.
Performance with the Ball
Earlier in the match, Prasidh struggled with the ball. He bowled 17 overs for 76 runs, picking up just one wicket – that of Campbell Kellaway.
Match Situation
- Australia A: Posted a strong first-innings score of 420 runs.
- India A: Bowled out for 194 runs in 52.5 overs, trailing by 226 runs at stumps.
Outlook
While Prasidh’s injury raised concerns, the medical team acted promptly. His condition will be monitored closely, with further updates expected from team management.
